The 12H was very popular and lots of them were made, however, most were made in the late 1950s and had the "marching men" engraving on them� marketed more towards the band clients. Many variations of the rotary valve have been invented in the past half-century such as the Thayer Valve or Axial-Flow Valve, the Hagmann valve, the Greenhoe rotor, and several others, all of which were designed to give the trombone a more open, free sound than a conventional rotary valve would allow.

Sold without case $2200 I really like the way this alto trombone plays. This contra has spent its life in the Hollywood studios. Beautiful gold plated Bach 229G gold brass bell, C trumpet, Large Bore, with a Bob Malone MC1 leadpipe, bell ferrule extension. It is a really fabulous playing trombone, you can read all about them and the concept we had while designing it. I have been going to your store for 5 years now and if i need anything like parts to repair an instrument or something new for our church we always go to Sam Ash.

It's in very good condition and has a beautiful alto sound, on the bigger side with a unique color and clarity that all Minick trombones seem to possess. Instruments are often bought by post (unseen), but check return conditions and guarantees before doing so. Sometimes these missed or cracked notes are left in recordings, especially in jazz recordings, where the overall emotion displayed in the performance may be considered more important than some errant notes.

The horn is noticeably better in the way I find notes in the upper range, the way the valves feel, and the way the horn just feels in my hands. There are several different types of brass instrument mutes. Excellent value that features a .547 inch large bore and an open wrap configuration. The slide is a modern Conn 88H slide with threaded leadpipes. I've only seen a handful of horns with the SPEC stamp and they all seem to be unique and all built around this time period.

The product listings featured here are brought to you from eBay. This is a solid playing bass trombone made by Vincent Bach in Elkhart, serial number is in the 40,xxx. Great for big band, ballads, solos, church playing. Very fast passages and large leaps are not advisable. The bell is a Bach 50 "Corporation" early Elkhart bell in yellow brass, in high demand these days. It has an 8" bell and a .547" bore slide. Even more unbelievable is that the guitars were bought at Nashville at rock bottom prices because they were out of fashion at that time! ‘Slowhands’ aka Eric Clapton used the guitar for 15 years before it sold off for a world record price at an auction.

This is the classic orchestral trombone workhorse that, along with the Conn 88H, set the standard for large bore tenor trombones. This one is not very old and was special ordered (as the 6 is no longer in regular production). The Bolero is like a beefier more kickass King 3B. All offers accepted, message for photos and questions. The lowest note of the standard instrument is therefore an E natural — a tritone below B♭. The 6D design comes from quite interesting origins.
